Dear Jason,

I’m writing to ask for your help with my English studies. I’ve been studying English for six years now, but I still feel like I’m stuck at an intermediate level—I can understand most things, but when it comes to writing or speaking, my brain goes blank.

The biggest problem I have is vocabulary: I know how to read words, but I don’t know how to use them in a sentence without sounding awkward or wrong. My second issue is pronunciation—I’ve always struggled with different accents and can’t seem to get my tongue around some of the harder sounds like “th” or “r.” And finally, my writing always seems too formal or too casual—I can’t seem to find the right balance.
