From my perspective, cross-cultural communication lies well beyond shallow copy. It actually demands heartfelt respect and thorough comprehension of Chinese culture, customs and values with a long-standing history. Only by gaining insight into the inner spirit of such culture can people gain a real taste of what being Chinese truly means.

As an overseas-studying Chinese student, I consistently value chances to deepen my understanding of foreign lifestyles via direct experience of different traditions and customs. Hi guys! Have you noticed the hot trend "Becoming Chinese" lately? It refers to an increasingly popular phenomenon that a great number of foreigners are adopting various ways of living unique to Chinese, ranging from drinking hot water with thermos bottles, wearing comfortable slippers at home to eating cooked food instead of raw food. Since more foreign friends are asking about it, I would like to introduce a representative example of Chinese lifestyle.

As is universally acknowledged, we Chinese tend to drink tea of all sorts every day to refresh our minds and prevent illness. Unlike Westerners, we treat tea not only as a drink, but also as a way to build up our physical and mental health, believing it contributes to keeping a balance between humans and nature. Apart from that, ways and manners of making and drinking tea are widely recognized as various forms of exquisite art.
